Alright, if I don't do this now, I'd totally forget about it and it would be bad.

If you didn't know, I gave Shizu's design an update (Although people should use UTAUloids based on voice alone...well...some people still don't). From that design, her hair now has a few light purple (subtle) streaks in it (Base color will probably always be white), and her pants will probably change a little within a few weeks/whenever I get back.

Anyways, I fixed her oto so she doesn't slur as much for her Japanese VB. If you're one of the eight or nine people who DL'd this bank, the redone oto is here:

They still have the picture problem, as my computer just hates me that much. Just add ".bmp" or whatever the extension was into the character.txt and it should work...

All of her voicebanks are encoded in romaji, with hiragana aliases, except her VCV bank. I've got to test that one a bit more before I release it... Oh, and I'm adding a ton of French syllables to her English/Spanish bank so hopefully I can get her past the "More than 5 Languages" stage. (Something I wanted to do for a while... :v I'll stop there unless she can already sing in languages I'm unaware of. ><")

EDIT 7/29: Testing VCVs. Recording more and more of Eng/SP/FR/+ bank. Korean is...in need of oto's. Also, I'm making an actual site for Shizu (On a site called Wix), but this blog will still be for video dumps and updates. It'll have a better looking DLs page and stuff.

"REVAMP. Because "Append" is overused." and I'm rerecording everything, again. And only SOFT is really any form of an append/alternate voice material.

Here's how 5.o is gonna work. VBs will be downloadable, each for the following.

SOFT: A softer set of Japanese with parts of English. Meant for capability of singing more songs without failing. (done, released)

Japanese REVAMP: Redone Japanese pronounced in Japanese, same sounds as SOFT. It's a little clearer, a smaller file, and still has a bit of the accent. (done, released)

Chinese REVAMP: Chinese that doesn't need too much work. No more tails, (besides "u:"). (done, released)

English and Spanish NOW WITH FRENCH and possibly a few others REVAMP: Japanese pronounced as it is now, with more English and Spanish and now French sounds. The pronunciation will be the same as 4.1 (recording, oto'ing)

English Only VB: something like Trem's. (...)

Korean REVAMP: Finally will get the correct pronunciation. (Oto'ing)

VCV REVAMP: to redo at a later date. Will hopefully, might not, be louder, and easier to use. Will use the metronome. (oto'ing)

oh, and the current VB will still be up after this... Revamp is meant so she can hopefully sing more songs without failing completely. It's just alternate voice material.

Anyways, I've recently found two people who are willing to give their voices to Aroku and Taer, two OCs I made a while ago for Shizu.
But, since they are both female, Taer will become Taera with Taer as her genderbend. Aroku will stay the same. So, I'm gonna change their surnames. None of them are technically the same. And I suppose that "sogone" doesn't always fit. In my own fanfic stuff, Taer/Taera doesn't have a last name. Although he later uses "Roji", it doesn't fit for UTAU.

I'm thinking about leaving Taer without a surname. Aro on he other hand will be some thing different. Not sure just what yet...
Yknow how Aroku is an alias? Well I'm not giving her real name just yet. But this means that her surname can be just about anything.

As far as Aro's surname goes, I'm thinking about and English word that I've always liked... Something like Silver, Chrome, or some sort of pun... no idea right now...

FOR BOTH VBs, the image that's supposed to pop up in UTAU hates me. The image is in the folder, but if I add it to the character.txt, it will say "bad picture" and not show the readme.txt.

How to use Shizu's Chinese

Random note: Two more plans that won't get done or even started for a while: First off, I'm rerecording it again, cuz some of the notes sound funny when merged/overlapped together. And then I'll use Wang Fangmei's reclist because (I'm too lazy to use my own methods, orz) and I hear that reclist is good.

So, the TUT thing for 4.1 is below, and the one for 5.0 is here:

U with two dots on it is "u:".

Everything else is in PinYin. There are no CVC sounds, but there are VC sounds that you can merge together. I don't have all of the CVV sounds either, but I have the VV sounds...merging again.

Most of it is very CV VC. Not quite like how Cz does that awesome Japanese and English CV VC, but something a bit like it. Like "tang", for example, you'd have to split it into "ta" and "ang".

Tuang, on the other hand would end up being tu/ua/ang. Or maybe you're good enough with it to just use tu/ang. I dunno.

See how much easier that was than whatever's below? :D

Everything has a tail of "_c" on it. This is due to the fact that some Chinese pinyin has the same spelling and different pronounciation. etc etc.

I've rerecorded her Chinese, and added a few more things. In other words, no more worrying about whether the Chinese is the same as Japanese.

U: has a tail of "_cc" this time. U has just one "_c". (IE, "lu_c" and "lu_cc". etc.)

There aren't recorded CVV, but there are VV and CV. ( No VCV either. Those are a pain. )

I also recorded "bmpf dtnl gkh...etc". These serve no purpose other than the fact that they can substitute for the others.

It's a matter of whatever you think sounds better. (Same goes for the ones that are pronounced the same as Japanese.)

-Attempting to get rid of useless pitch arrow notes and other useless stuff that only makes the file unneededly larger. (done)

-Getting rid of those notes from the OTO file. (The oto file wants to refuse this... There will be some random blank spaces in the updated version. Shouldn't make much of a difference... Just annoyance towards tweaks)

Anyways, I decided to change a few things with Shizu's derivatives. Taer and Aroku are no longer derivatives, but future plans for other voicebanks. Keep in mind that they will be super-basic romaji/kana. This is given that I can find someone who is willing to lend their voice for this.

If I DO manage to finish those two, the third plan is to make twins from one voice source. Who knows what I'll do. You have no idea how much fun I'm having with this. -_-"

EDIT: Finished Sake Sogone's art. Sake is Shizu's fail-loid. HERE, you can see her image.Also, her name is pronounced "SAYKE", and not "sah-keh", and is mispelled purposely. She drinks more than Shizu, and is way more depressed than Shizu.

I also removed the Chorus of Sogone because of these changes. I doubt I'll ever re-upload it.

I also began a list of USTs that I'd really like to have but can't find on my YT page.

Oh and, I edited Shizu's voicebank a little more so there aren't as many useless pitch arrow things that really do nothing. Other than that, it's the same. So, it's really just a smaller file.

I began working on Shizu's voicebank before I knew how to use UTAU. And thus, I have like, zero skill with USTs.

I fixed most of the romaji, added tri/diphonic things, and added Korean (sorta). I also fixed most of the oto.ini, and you shouldn't need to use what I didn't fix.

I also added a few more notes.

Korean is there, but it will probably need a bit of tweaking and mixing with her Japanese and Chinese. I'll fix it as soon as I begin to learn Korean from a friend.

The only thing that I couldn't get to work was her picture in UTAU. Seriously. I tried updating it, and it didn't work. "Bad picture" is what appeared. Yes, I checked the name and folders of the stuff. Yes, I tried different picture types (jpg, bmp, gif). Ehh, I'll figure it out soon. I hope.

Random stuff tends to pop up with the oto.ini thing. Be careful with some notes. I don't recommend using romaji for "kya". Hiragana works fine with that. Working on fixing it.

EDIT: Please be warned when you use a UST that uses "z" for a rest. There is something with "z", and she will say "Z". This shouldn't happen with "x" though.

I've been working on the triphonic/diphones things that I find quite annoying. They will be done in the next week or two, but no guarantees. The reclist makes it look short. (-_-);

I can't do anything tomorrow. I'll be out all day. Well, not until like 11 at night or something. But I probably won't get much done.

But this weekend, I'm going to try to get some more notes/sounds added to Shizu's voicebank. More triphonic/diphonic stuff? I'm not sure what it's classified under. I'll try and get some art stuff done too. Stuff for whatever I have a UST for, anyways.

Anyways, I've decided to possibly give this site/project a new name, maybe. There are so many "Project this" or "that Project"s out there.

Ehh, this is only if I can come up with something good. Or someone suggests something.

Even if there's just one UTAUloid, there are plans for plenty of designs/related characters with fail-voicebanks. And they all sound different. Not to mention their male counterparts.

All of their surnames is "sogone", though I may change the derivative of the 'sogo' part of it.

I've also decided to hold off on a banner for this blog until I get designs of more derivatives/related characters/fail-character voicebanks, designs, and names + info stuff done. Or at least their names and designs.

Well, I fixed most of the more frequently used oto.ini things. I don't think anyone will try using much else yet.

But, in the process, i somehow messed up a lot of the romaji parts. It's a pain to go through and delete the extras, but I'm working on it. Some of it still works, but the rest either makes a black space or a crap sounding note.

Hiragana should work fine though.

I just realized something.
Y'know how 'ki' sounds like crap? I find this VERY ironic.
The story I've featured her in is being called "Key of Dreams" right now. aka Yume no Ki.
I guess she hates keys now? Nah. Probably not.

I googled the kanji for other "sogo" derivatives and learned that they're all the same. So, Kotori's and Aroku's surnames are actually just derivatives.
Taer's is still "conflicting sound".
And Shizu has a little bit of a tendency to mix up kanji, so it's still a derivative.

In other news, I'm going to try and learn how to make MIDIs. In Audacity? I dunno. That's what the person who made the Scarlet Moon MIDI did, god knows how. But if I learned how, I still need to learn to transfer them to ust files, and I still need my computer fixed.
You have no idea how annoyed I am by the fact that I still can't get it fixed.

A few decisions...

I've had a lot of time lately...
But it is likely that Taer will replace the male version of Shizu, and Aroku will be a higher pitched version of Shizu. Thus, they will all still be "Sogone"s.

And there was a character personality decision too. I forgot the legal drinking age in Japan... But since Shizu is 18+, then she can drink all she likes dependent on how old she is at the time.
Err, a choice from a while back is that she can't hold a whole lot of alcohol...

Art choices:
Her hair isn't as straight anymore. It still is, but it gets a little wavy near the bottom. But if her ankles aren't shown, her hair still goes to her ankles, and there's no need to draw the ends.
Parts of her hair also now lay over her shoulders...
And her glasses are about the same... But thicker on the sides, and with a thinner top of the frames.

Her purple is now a bit deeper. It's not as dull anymore.

EDIT: working on coloring Melt... But since the only good art program on this computer is GIMP, and I don't want to download more than what's already here... And GIMP seems to hate me. It freezes up a lot, and lags way more than it should. This may take a while... Plus I need Japanese on the computer... It doesn't seem to work... I just need to make the background now...Plus the background text...

And I can't seem to figure out how you put the "icon" in the "icon" pic box in UTAU. Like, I know how to get the "readme" file there, but what do I have to name the icon?
And how do I get the "sample" thing to work? I know some UTAUloids have the "sample" button play an actual sample rather than recorded notes that sound like crap when they're alone...
Bleh. When I get my computer back, I'm fixing it ASAP.

My computer crashed this week. Someone should be out to fix it later next week.
I didn't lose any files. That's good. I have a temp computer. That's good too.
This computer doesn't have Japanese, and needs a disk to install it. I don't have that disc. That's bad.

Therefore, I will work on art this weekend (Hopefully... We have a four day weekend...). I have cover images for her drawn already, but I lack a scanner and digital coloring skills... I have no idea how to use a desktop computer either... The one that crashed was a laptop, I hope to at least get backgrounds for the images in...

Also, for "ki", it sound like crap and I don't know why. When I was playing around with it, "ki down" works, "ki up" doesn't. "Ki down" still sounds weird, but it can do pitch changes...
And for "to", use "to up" it sound the same.
Still for "a", use "a_c"...

I guess she's in "beta" phase right now... I dunno.. I've never released anything like this before...

Another Yay

I recently wrote a song for Shizu.
It's a parody of The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku.
But I want to find the ust for it first. I doubt I can get the notes right without it.
And a new project opened. Project PV will be the PV for this version.
but I can only work on it during school. :(

Err, I can't find the ust file. I'm going to keep looking, but no guarantee that I'll find it...
Bleh. I'll have to make the lyrics into another song...

All pitches of "ki" really suck and I don't know why.
A new version of the note will be "key" probably and will hopefully sound better. but I can't rerecord it until later...

My art programs don't work. I can't use the ones at school due to lack of time.
I probably will scrap my first idea for a banner. May just use a cover image for another song... Butterfly on Your Left Shoulder, Tokyo "2" Rock City, or Alice?

Don't use "a" or "ki".
Ki makes a dual robotic noise that I don't know how to get rid of, and "a" won't play.

Err, Shizu's concept art is planning to be redrawn.

Shizu may be part fail-loid, but it's only because I can't sing well at all.

If the voicer is, for the most part, tone-deaf, does that affect the voicee and make her partially tone deaf as well? Or is it okay because she's an UTAU?

None the less, she is a Sogone, her voicer can't sing, and she is half fail-loid (Mostly by design).

Please don't use low notes. They sound terrible. Unless you can magically tweak it, don't attempt it.

Today in context.

Well, I began to voice for Chinese Pinyin. I have most of them down, but I still have to check for errors and stuff... And then make the oto files, and make aliases for the things in Hiragana...

Because my computer has to be in English to run Paint.NET, my only art program, and I have to restart my computer every time I change languages, and because I need it in Japanese to use UTAU or zip folders with hiragana, or stuff like that, I won't get the banner done for quite a while. If I can finish voicing and tweaking this weekend, she'll be up. And then I will go on hiatus working on a banner.

EDIT: it's 9:50 here. I just got back from a boring dinner. I also just finished voicing Chinese. Huzzah! But now to make the oto files and then make sure they sound okay.... There's some pitches in English I think i may have to redo too... Bleh. Ver 3 should be up by tonight or tomorrow.

Err, I actually designed Aroku during math one day this school year... Shizu was designed during the summer about a month after becoming interested in VOCALOID, and Taer was designed Dec. 19th, or at least his general outfit was designed that day...

In other news, I am planning for one last OC. She will be a "human VOCALOID" sort of OC. Yes, I will attempt to sing, and she will likely be a Sogone.

There hasn't been any progress on Shizu's song. What would it be called? For now I'm coining it "The song of Sogone", so all three can sing it. "Tsos" for short. It'll likely be about a minute long, and won't do super high or super low notes.

Pitches are being annoying. Hopefully, next time I have time, the arrows will save and be able to be compressed...

After restarting my very slow computer twice, (It takes like two hours per shutdown... Unless I force it.. But it loses stuff that way), I have made Shizu's voicebank into Hiragana as well.

Updated some of the sounds so they sound better.

If you want to use an English "r" sound, make it "er" instead. This way, you can still use rests.
